Sanjan MuchandImatH

I am a graduate Master’s student in the Department of Aerospace Engineering at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. Prior to my Master’s I received my Bachelor’s degree with Honours from the Indian Institute of Technology Madras and was a Project Assistant for a year at the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore. Currently I am serving as a Graduate Student Instructor for the course Statistical Inference/Estimation/Learning (Fall 2022) and was a Graduate Student Research Assistant during Winter 2022 having been an Aerodynamics Intern at Odys Aviation over the summer

My research is focused on Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), Structures, Fluid-Structure Interactions (FSI), and their applications in the aviation and the automobile industry. I am especially interested in applying my knowledge in these areas to better design products using sustainable and innovative methodologies. In the framework of broadening my skillset, I am implementing Machine Learning, Data-Driven Modeling, Bayesian Inference, and Estimation in these fields during my Master’s.

In my spare time, I either watch or play soccer and am an avid F1 fan having been a part of Formula Student all my undergrad years with Raftar Formula Racing
